Blog Tour: The Final Post

Today marks the end of the Great Steampunk Blog Tour, with a stop at the place of wonderful friend and author Deborah J. Ross:

A number of writing blogs have already commented on the speed of writing these days, how just a few years ago, I would have received a big pile of paper in the mail with red marks all over it, and after I went though it, I would have had to make a trip to the post office. Now I read and upload a file, yada yada yada.

I just want to add that it feels wrong.  For steampunk, I mean.

Check out Deborah's excellent blog for the rest and leave a comment to let her know you stopped by!

And what a tour! Thanks to everyone who followed me around Ye Olde Internet!

The Steampunk Blog Tour continues over at the blog of my agent [livejournal.com profile] varkat (Lucienne Diver), in which we discuss the importance of fanfiction and we learn a fun fact about my relationship with Lucienne.  http://luciennediver.wordpress.com/

Her blog, by the way, is also chock full o' agently goodness and is worth checking out under all circumstances!

Busy at Roc

Roc, my publisher, asked me to write a "Dear Reader" letter for THE DOOMSDAY VAULT. And they're publishing a series of blogs which are NOT about DOOMSDAY. The first one, "Living in the Thirties," is about one source of ideas for writers.  I've been busier with writing blog entries than with writing fiction!

Because the Internet still doesn't have enough content.

Steampunk Blog Tour 2

The Steampunk Blog Tour continues over at author Cindy Spencer Pape's place.  Go check it out and leave a comment with Cindy to let her know you stopped by!

"Steampunk: Because It's Cool, That's Why."

Today I was teaching a grammar lesson to my sixth hour.  I wrote a number of examples with a stylus on my SmartBoard, which is connected
to a computer.  I also wore a wireless headset that recorded everything I said while I taught.  The computer synched what I wrote with what I
said, converted it into a digital movie file, and automatically uploaded it to a public web site so that students who were absent could see and hear the lesson at their leisure from their home computers.

I've come a long way from the colored chalk I used my first year of teaching.
