Happy 2012
New Year's Eve was quiet here. I had to stay home with Sasha for various reasons, and Kala took the boys to a family-style party at friends'. The boys enjoyed themselves very much, I hear tell, and they arrived home at about 1:30. Kala didn't want to drive home, so she crashed on the couch.
This morning we had the annual tradition: get rid of the holidays! We always dismantle the holiday decorations and put them away on New Year's Day. This is partly because we're all tired of them by now and partly because I know if it doesn't get done on New Year's, it won't get done. Kala offered to help, which was nice, and it was all accomplished quickly. Very nice to have the living room back!
While I had the momentum going, I hung pictures. I hadn't gotten around to putting up any pictures, neither family photos nor framed prints, and the walls are so bare. The landlord doesn't care about nail holes in the wall as long as they're covered over when we leave, so I went around with the hammer and put up a whole bunch all over. The house looks a lot nicer now, less Spartan. I want to get more frames and print up more photos later.
And now it's back to the novel . . .
