Really Sorry

I'm sorry, Gavin.  I'm really, really sorry.  You're only 17 and a really nice kid and terrible things will happen to your life over the next several chapters.  The more I write, the more I hate doing this to you, but it has to be done or the story won't go anywhere.  I'm really, truly sorry, and I'll be with you every step of the way, and I promise things will eventually get better.
