So Much Vamping

My friend and agent Lucienne Diver varkat  has a new book out.  Actually, she has two.  Vamped was first, and Revamped just came out yesterday.  They're punchy, funny vampire books and so worth checking out.

Basic Business

The boys didn't get a vacation this year because of the move.  Really, their main outings all summer consisted of seeing TOY STORY 3 and DESPICABLE ME and swimming in the complex's pool.  And the last couple of weeks we haven't done much except watch TV and play video games.  So I figured tomorrow (Friday) I'd take them out somewhere.  Go Kart riding sounded fun.  As my brother Paul once pointed out, it might be a way to see if Aran could handle driving a car one day.  So I went online to look for Go Kart places around here.

Google turned up a number of them.  Cool!  I checked for web sites.

Only one had a web site.

One?  Yep, one.  What kind of place that's supposed to entertain teens and kids doesn't have a freakin' web site in this day and age?  Seriously!  And as a parent on a budget, I'm not going to tell my kids we're going to a Go Kart track, get them all excited, drive half an hour, and discover the place is closed or more expensive than we can afford or otherwise unsuitable.  So what dumbass doesn't put up at least a basic web site?

Fortunately, the closest place =does= have a web site and the prices look reasonable.  They also have other amusement--laser tag, video games, soccer cages, trampolines, and a climbing wall.  They're getting my business tomorrow--because they have a web site.
