I can't believe I forgot to post about this!

The oil well has been capped, but the problems continue. And as long as we are dependent on oil to run our lives, these kinds of problems with happen again and again.

How cool is that?

It's been a week for new recipes.  I get bored in the kitchen fairly easily, so I'm always on the lookout for interesting stuff to make.  This week, it was one after another.

Over the weekend, I tried a recipe for curried pork chops with apples and sweet potatoes.  I love curry, but the boys aren't used to it, and this was a mild way to introduce them to it.  (I'm deliberately forcing the boys to try new foods, since they aren't adventurous in the least.)  This one got mixed reviews from the boys, but I liked it quite a lot.

Yesterday I made tuna burgers using a recipe I came across by accident on-line.  Their big virtue is that they're inexpensive.  I made them and the boys were skeptical, but were quickly won over and chowed them down.  They also turned out to be very filling--none of us was hungry later in the evening.  I shall add them to the regular rotation.

Today I made a sausage, egg, and cheese strata.  Actually I made it last night and put it in the fridge to soak together.  This was nice because this afternoon I just tossed it into the oven.  I served it with yogurt.  This one was the big winner with the boys.  Aran was, as usual, leery at first and demanded to know exactly what was in it, then scarfed it down once he tasted it.  Mackie proclaimed it yummy, and Sasha ate two huge pieces.  Another keeper.

A tasty week so far!
