Thanksgiving Blessing

Back when I was a regular at the Avalon Pagan gathering, I knew a Witch who called herself Lady Serenity.  She was a large woman with a large laugh and an earthy sense of humor.  Kala and I were going into town one day and we asked her if she needed anything.  "I lost my soap," she said.  "Could you get me some?"

At the store, we found a display of soap on sale mega-cheap.  As a joke, we bought a dozen bars, assembled them on a platter, and paraded into her campsite with them.  She laughed and laughed and accepted the gift.

You see, Lady Serenity maintained that the best thing in her life was that she didn't merely have enough, she always had more than enough.  "I live in abundance," she said. "What can be better than that?"

And what better Thanksgiving blessing can there be?  May you always have more than enough!  May you always live in abundance!

Maksim and Thanksgiving

While I was doing some kitchen stuff, Maksim said from the living room, "Dad, I know I've said this before, but thank you for adopting me and Sasha."

It was very sweet and it made me cry.
